Faith Walkers

“…we walk by faith, not by sight” 2 Corinthians 5:7

As Christians, “we walk by faith and not by sight”; this emphasizes that in our walk we must keep sight of the joy we will have with the Lord. As “Faith Walkers”, our Lord gives us all things pertaining to life and godliness in this life and in the age to come. On warm summer days, we see walkers equipped with energy drinks and water bottles to help them continue on their path. Like faithful exercise walkers, we “faith walkers” also have equipment to continue. The word of God equips us, the scriptural phrase “not by sight” does not promote denial, naivety, unawareness or Ignorance; these familiar words are intended to aide our individual growth in faith.

“Not by sight” is the energy drink; it is our power booster, a surge of the Spirit of God arising within to continue walking in faith.  This all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. As we, believers exercise this spirit of faith we strengthen our ability to resist regarding life from a worldly point of view.

An article on the Mayo Clinic website says that the human body is made of 60% water; the body cannot live without water.  “Not by sight” is a water bottle filled with what is essential to maintain good healthy faith. “Not by sight” is the water that renews us so that we do not lose heart.

“Not by sight” is the drink that washes, purges impurities that cloud our thoughts. “Not by sight” refreshes our minds so that we keep sight of Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith, whose word assures that he desires us to be in health and prosper even as our souls prosper.

Beloved may you begin each day with a surge of the Spirit of God arising within, giving you strength to continue walking in faith; and each night may you find that you have walked by faith and not by sight.

Yours in Christ
