Full-Fledge Joy!

In your presence there is fulness of joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11

Full-Fledge Joy!

In today’s world we are all too often hard-pressed to even encounter joyful commentaries, or any joyful acuities from day to day. If the truth be told, many of us are heavily burdened with regular occurrences of immense sadness, of societal hardships, and inequities that can drive one to the edge of dread and despair. We are pushed too hard to despondency from dreams deferred; dashed away by onslaughts of dreadful hopelessness and despair.

And so, it is true that the world can’t always offer us much more than the harsh realities of hopelessness—but God can. In His presence there is fulness of joy; in his right hand are pleasures forevermore. In God’s presence there are boundless pleasures notwithstanding God’s holiness, God’s love, God’s mercy, God’s compassion, and God’s full fledge Joy! It is an imperishable realm of joy that is unsearchable and not contingent on our circumstances.

The Lord’s full fledge joy is so empowering and everlasting all the way to the very depths of our sometimes, downtrodden soul—again, regardless of the trials and tribulations that we endure on this side of heaven. For when we prayerfully enter and bask in God’s divine and reassuring presence, we are bestowed a joy that doesn’t even cancel-out our troubles. Why? Because the joy we have is not about happiness or our troubles; but about its utmost and its sustainability and facility to restore our hope and devotion to the life to be lived in God’s sovereign presence. Remember the Psalmist David passionately prayed “Restore in me the joy of your salvation and sustain in me a willing spirit.” [Psalm 51:12]

Indeed, to be pressed and stressed by the world is one thing. But to be freed from distress by God is quite another.

Yes, in times like these, we can honestly rejoice that the full fledge joy of the LORD is our strength now and forevermore.

Yours in Christ,
