The Conscious Power of Love

“Put me like a seal over your heart, Like a seal on your arm. Solomon 8:6a

Love is often the focus of bible readings during February which usher’s in the expectation coined by the adage “Love is in the air”.  As Valentine’s Day approaches anticipation of love grows, even more pronounced. This is so because in some ways the idea that Love is in the air”, conveys a phenomenon wherein people perceive love as an event. And of course, love is commonly associated with weddings, acts of kindness, providing or protecting someone etc. They are expressions of love. Solomon 8:6 sings of symbols of love, giving love a place of value as a seal of honor, surety and authority.

Love holds such a very high value to us and to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, because love is an element within us that we share with the Divine. God’s love is rich; it is powerful, immeasurable and strong. God is love. This love song is a wonderful expression of our need for the conscious power of love; the love that I meditate on while lying here on a hospital bed. As I reflect on the meaning of loving and being loved while pondering the course of medical care, I become more drawn and wrapped in the love that is so wide, so long, so high and so deep that it surpasses the knowledge of what the physicians have relayed. It is the love of Christ. Loving Jesus opens a pathway for the ultimate blueprint of love to be written on the tablets of our hearts the capability and capacity to love and be loved. God’s Spirit is powerfully strengthening my inner being. Convinced that nothing is able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord, I am filled with the fullness of God.  Falling in love with Jesus is the best thing I ever did.

Yours in Christ
