Do Amazing Work Together!

“The one who plants and the one who waters have a common purpose, and each will receive wages according to the labor of each.  For we are God’s servants, working together;” [I Corinthians 3:8-9]

Do Amazing Work Together!

We live in an age where people are increasingly concern about a lack of purpose and meaning in their lives.  In spite of their success and various types of personal advancement, many still long for personal satisfaction in their life and a capacity to make a substantial difference in the world.  And even though the world is globally smaller, and technologically world-wide communication is at the finger-tips of most, instead of experiencing a daily onslaught of needed elements of kindness and compassion there has evolved among us a foul spirit of divisiveness and distrust.  Missed opportunities to achieve a meaningful common purpose together are a daily occurrence.

Thank God there is another more worthwhile occurrence, which is the amazing fact that everyday humanity is called by grace to be spiritually equipped to work harmoniously in God’s world-wide vineyard and expect what God expects as a result of their labor—a world-wide harvest.  One that is not only meaningful but plentiful.  A harvest bursting at the seams with new disciples for Christ from all walks of life—people who are transformed, full of hope, on fire for Jesus ready to go out and labor with the discouraged, marginalized, and weak as a glorious and profound lifestyle.

Just think about it—everyday people are inwardly called by the grace of the holy God of all creation, not to be constantly gripped by a spirit of divisiveness, but to be on one accord with the LORD and partner in dispensing his Amazing gift of salvation; his redemptive love, reconciliation, mercy, compassion, and justice to everybody. It’s an AMAZING gift encasing a world-wide spiritual endeavor of meaning and common purpose that is transformative, exciting, innovative, requires a willingness to work, and is available to each of us by the grace of God.

Let’s not miss any more opportunities in this life-time to have a meaningful common purpose of embracing God’s will, and opt to do amazing things in this world together. Let’s aspire for the betterment of all humanity as God’s servants, working together to reap an abundant harvest from our labor.

Yours in Christ,

Rev. Lurecie M. Stokes
