God Blesses through Life’s Stresses

Who will separate us from the love of Christ?

Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Romans 8:36-37

God Blesses through Life’s Stresses

The new year is usually seen as a time of hope for better outcomes in life than the previous year.  Better physical and mental health, better financial security, better family life, better career opportunities, and better spiritual growth is usually what people hope to achieve in the new year.

Better is good but in the context of the text, God’s love in Christ Jesus embodies not just better but clearly MORE!  Scripture reveals that because of God’s love for us in Christ Jesus we are destined to be MORE than mere “winners”; but positively we are wired to be MORE resilient, MORE assured of God’s blessings and powerful intervention as we encounter the stresses and distresses of this new year.

Indeed, it is true that we have MORE of God’s best which is manifested in Christ Jesus. However, let us consider that with God’s love we are empowered to be overwhelmingly victorious despite the hardships, distress, and other stresses of each day—we have more capacity to acclimate to God’s will in every area of life that includes trials as well as triumphs.  We learn to trust God more.

God’s love provides more power and endurance to take us through the fight of life.  More of God’s grace gives us the confidence that God is on our side.  More of God’s patience is needed to wait on Him and not be overtaken by fear and anxiety.  More of God’s faithfulness transforms us to be more faithful; and finally, we all just need to be ever more cognizant in our heart and mind of God’s steadfast love.

Let us prayerfully embrace the abundant blessing of God’s love throughout this new year!

Yours in Christ,
