It’s Greater Works Time

“Very truly, I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do, in fact, will do greater works than these…” John 14:12

It’s Greater Works Time

It has been said that no matter where you are, no matter the location of one’s chosen life’s work, believers can serve God and minister to people around them. People who work spend more time on the job than anywhere else, and many of us want to do a good job that we know is pleasing to God. But the text promises that we will not only do good works but greater works than those that even Jesus did.

The obvious question is how is this promise possible when most of us are often distracted and burdened by the cares of everyday life; the turbulence of world affairs; and even by the anxiety about things that haven’t happened? How do we step on the Greater Works Path and realize the promise that we will do the greater works despite the tough challenges of daily living many of us face?

What we know is that Jesus is more acquainted with the capacity to do greater works of each of us than anyone including us could begin to imagine. He’s fully aware of our strengths and weakness; of our gifts and talents; and of our proclivity to slip and stumble from time to time while doing regular works as well as the Greater Works that he emphasized. And so, his promise is not ambivalent, lofty words with zero substance, but a promise that merely requires our activation to get started.

How do we activate this divine promise that we will do greater works? Simply by calling the toll-free line to Jesus in prayer and faith, and let him know that we concur that it’s Greater Works Time and we are ready to go!

Yours in Christ,
