It’s Rejoicing Time!

“He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.” (Psalm 40:3 NIV)

Historically up to the present, New Year’s Day has been a worldwide time of rejoicing—it still is.  And the rejoicing takes place at many venues; some people rejoice in the church until midnight; some in nightclubs or bars; some in the streets downtown, some on war ships, and some even at home.

It seems that the place to rejoice really doesn’t matter for most people to rejoice during that time—but the very fact that because they have been given (not earned) a brand new year to begin again gives way to elation from continent to continent.  People want to Rejoice and be Glad!

We all have a reason to rejoice in God’s goodness toward us.  Whether it’s be because the LORD has brought us out  or brought us up, there is a jubilancy in knowing that our faithful God thought it well to “put a new song” in our hearts one more time.

And when one’s heart is full of joy, a praise may raise up in thanks for being brought up from a pit of despair, or a pit of doubt and fear, or a pit of hopelessness and dread.  A praise may raise up when God’s divine intervention ushers in for us the newness of a fresh start!

Sing a new Praise Song in thanks for the LORD’s mercy, his love, his compassion, his faithfulness, and most of all for his gift of eternal life.

Yours in Christ
