Leap to a Harvest

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9

Leap to a Harvest

It’s a brand, new year!  Time for people around the world to embrace the bounty of opportunities that lay ahead.

Time to square our shoulders and face the formidable challenges of 2017 that are sure to spring forth like a grass hopper that leaps from between a blade of grass.  For even the grass hopper couldn’t help but soar up, up, up to heights far beyond the valley of day to day predators who failed to keep up with his spring to safety; leaving them behind somewhere in the grass of 2016.

It’s leaping time for us! We too are called to spring forth in the spirit of holiness every day and let our work in Christ please the Spirit.  Over time, if we don’t give up, if we do not become weary in doing good, we will reap a good spiritual harvest in our heart running over with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Because of the God’s great goodness towards us, because of the steadfastness of his love for his people it is possible for us to be full of optimism all year long.  It is possible for each person of faith in the true and living God, in spite of the valley of the day to day challenges that lay ahead; it is possible to leap from between the blades of trials up, up, up toward all that the Lord has for us and all that will be achieved for his glory and our good.

It is possible to leap toward a good harvest and leave the trials behind.

Yours in Christ,

Rev. Lurecie M. Stokes
