The mission of Hartford’s African Relief Ministry is to support the well-being of our brothers and sisters in Africa and throughout the Diaspora through funds raised with the African Relief Fund. This ministry also will administer the Rites of Passage program for boys and girls from America to connect with their African ancestry, culture and traditions to develop into successful adults.

College Circle

College Circle Ministry

The College Circle ministry was created to keep youth connected (socially, spiritually and professionally) to each other and Hartford church while away at college or graduate school. We also want to provide mentoring opportunities to connect college students with scholarships, internships and careers in their field of study.

Evangelism Ministry

Hartford Evangelism Ministry

The Hartford Evangelism Ministry is a fellowship of Christian believers who have dedicated themselves to spreading the Gospel in obedience to Jesus’ “Great Commission” to the Church given in Mark 16:15; “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone”. Our ministry changes lives and is open to anyone who loves people and wants to see them saved. We will teach you how to witness effectively and provide you with opportunities to practice your witnessing skills in real life situations.

HARAMBEE MISSION STATEMENT

The Harambee Ministry is committed to deepening the Christian experience of recently joined members for a life-long Christian involvement in a supportive Christian environment.

OBJECTIVE

To prepare recent joinees to attain their maximum Christian potential and to empower them to constructs and control their own desires.

VISION

Harambee is a Swahili word that “Let’s all pull together” is dedicated to deepening the experience of the love of Christ in the body of Christ, which is the church; and to transform a vast congregation into an intimate family of mutually supportive members.

MCM MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Married Couples Ministry (MCM) of HMBC is to continue to build on the foundation of holy matrimony with humble acts of submission and loving one another, even as Christ also loved the church. To be constantly mindful of our marital vows with willful obedience and mutual respect, for better or for worse, till death do us part.

We will commit with relentless persistence to walk together by faith and Christian
harmony, while consecrating ourselves to spiritual growth and Christian service.
Also, we will render opportunities to develop new and enduring friendships with married
couples through planned social activities and fellowship.

United, we strive to provide a compassionate outreach ministry that supports and comforts married couples challenged by adversity, or spouses who suddenly find themselves in a state of loneliness.

Hartford Women United Ministry

Harford Women United

HWU is a year round ministry which involves prayer retreats for women, lectures on critical women’s topics, worship services for all during the month of September, a concert by the Women’s Chorus, workshops for spiritual growth, fashion shows for fellowship and fundraising, sponsorship of Young Hartford Women United, and on-going outreach/missions to the community.

Scouting Ministry

Boy Scouts Ministry

Hartford Church is the chartering organization for Boy Scout Troop 647 and Pack 647. Omari Sankofa is the Scoutmaster and Eileen Gordon-King is the Cubmaster. 

The 110-year-old organization known as the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) provides the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training. Pack 647 serves youth from age 5 (kindergarten) to 5th grade. Hartford Troop 647 serves youth from grades 6 through 12. 

Typically, Troop and Pack 647 meet each 2nd Saturday from 1 pm to 4 pm. Our calendar begins in September and ends in June. As well, we attend summer camp in August. Our meetings have moved online, and activities have been very fluid since March 2020 – due to Covid18 restrictions.

Transitional Outreach (Homeless) Ministry

FAMILY AND THE VILLAGE

Hartford’s Transitional Outreach Ministry provides the homeless (families, women, veterans etc.) with worship/fellowship services and resources such as food, clothing, bibles, and referral information. By partnering with shelters and other organizations we support the positive transformation of their lives.
